I remember when my daughter was born. Visions of her and I dressed in pinks and purples sitting in her lacy pink room playing dolls danced threw my head. A year later my son was born ;My husbands vision of sports and trucks revved around like mad men threw his manly mind. Those dreams were simply that dreams. Little did I know there are lessons for parents to learn about children's toys and who are children will be.My daughter plays with dolls. She plays with clay and gets her hands dirty.

She plays in the dirt, climbs trees and races her trucks around .,he plays kick ball , base ball and can run as fast as any boy.My son plays with trucks and builds with blocks, he colors and plays ps2 and he plays house with my girls rocking babies and feeding them. There was a time my husband would bark to my son "Put down that doll!" until we came to the realization that play is really a child's preparation for real life. Our daughter was learning sportsmanship and how to be a team player from all the sports she played. My son was learning compassion and parenting skills from those dolls. It's amazing to me to watch my son now with his baby brother?I can see the compassion he has learned threw us and his play and I know some day he will be a good father I see my daughter line up her brothers and sister for a game of kick ball. And I see how she has learned to take the lead and take charge.

I know some day in what ever she put her mind to see will be a success. My message to parents is not to limit their child. Toys and sports are learning tools for life and they shouldn't carry a gender.By the way?my daughter and I play but its not dolls?.many days you can find us all at the beach?covered in muddy sand driving our big Tonka's? .? 2004-2005 Jennifer Govehttp://www.simplymoms.com.

With road rage being so common these days, we should all take a step back and review a few rules of the road. While not taught in most driver education classes or state driver's manuals, these rules will help you be a better driver.

The left lane is for passing. If you are going to pass, do it quickly and safely. Some states have laws that prohibit "driving" in the left lane, leaving it open for passing only.

If someone is trying to merge onto the highway and you have room, get into the left lane. This can help avoid an accident or at the least make someone's day a little brighter.
Be aware of large trucks and their driving styles. Tractor trailers, dump trucks, and other large vehicles can not stop as fast as you can. Keep that in mind the next time you squeeze in front of a truck at the stop light.

Also, heavy trucks while on the highway will slow down while going up large hills but pick up speed on the downhill side. This can lead to a game of leap frog which will frustrate you and the truck driver. If possible get far enough ahead of the truck to avoid excessive passing!
Use your turn signals. I swear they were an option in some cars, considering most people do not use them. They are there as a signal to inform your fellow drivers where you plan to go.

I guess this has been a list of my pet peeves, but I hope it will help you have a safer trip down the road. Remember, we all share the road and together we can make it safer. Take care and safe driving,.

Christmas Wish: Dignity and a Real Home. In New York City?where the average apartment sells for over $1 million?a record 9,000 families, 16,000 of them children, are homeless today. And families leaving the shelters for new, permanent homes rarely have the income to buy home furnishings. Because FlatRate Moving believes that an apartment without furniture is simply not a home, they are teaming up with The Partnership for the Homeless to pick up furniture from giving donors and delivering it to needy families. This means those who need it will get the furniture ? sofas, dressers, chairs, tables, desks, and other necessities--to make their homes a real home. The Partnership's furniture bank, Furnish a Future, helps transform empty apartments into comfortable, secure homes for thousands of formerly homeless families and individuals each year.

This holiday season, FlatRate is aiding The Partnership with the very services they make their business from every day. FlatRate's moving trucks will be sent out across the boroughs, collecting new and gently-used furniture that their owners no longer want. FlatRate will transport the furniture to The Partnership's warehouse, and also help deliver them to families in need. General Manager Eric Kleper said, "If we can put smiles on even one family's faces this holiday season, that's making a difference."By partnering with this nonprofit organization, FlatRate has committed dozens of trucks and even more drivers, movers and coordinators to help move the furniture so many need. The organization will help FlatRate connect with the extremely low-income families who so desperately need home furnishings.

Furthermore, FlatRate hopes to keep this Program as part of their business year-round, by continuing to donate good quality, unwanted furniture to The Partnership for the Homeless. New Yorkers are urged to donate unwanted pieces of furniture in good condition at: http://www.flatrate.com/donations.Sharone Ben-Harosh, who founded FlatRate Moving in 1991, says, "I came over from Israel and started this business on my own. On the way, there were so many people who touched my life, helping my business along. Now, it's my turn to give back."???"Thanks to FlatRate Moving's generous contribution of trucks, drivers and many additional resources, thousands of New York City's once-homeless children will be able to sit down at a table for dinner, read a book on the family sofa, or study at their own desk?activities that most of us take for granted," said Arnold S. Cohen, President & CEO of The Partnership for the Homeless.Contact: About The Cannon Group The Cannon Group (www.thecannongroup.us) is a New York based public relations agency that focuses on a wide range of activities for its clients to develop and implement the strategies they need to increase awareness and drive business metrics..

CARPINTERIA, CA March 19, 2004-?SuperSprings, Inc., a leader in the market for self adjusting suspension stabilizers, today announced it has established a relationship with Home Team Service of Dallas, Texas to provide suspension enhancement on their fleet of half-ton and compact pickups due to loading increases from the equipment and supplies Home Team are upfitting to their trucks."We are delighted to have established this alliance with Home Team Service as we feel our SuperSprings line of products provide significant improvements to the load carrying capabilities and handling of these vehicles," said Gerry Lamberti, Chief Operating Officer at SuperSprings. "Additionally, we typically see reduced tire wear and a significant reduction in body roll in trucks fitted with our equipment, without hardening the ride."As with most pest control companies, upfitment is required on light duty trucks resulting in stresses on existing suspension, shocks and tires. Field tests determined that the SuperSprings medium duty spring provides the necessary enhancement to the majority of Home Team Service's compact pickups while the SuperSprings heavy duty models accommodate their half-ton and three-quarter ton models.SuperSprings is a self-adjusting suspension stabilizer that gives users extra load capacity, improves towing, and prevents rear-end sag without hardening the ride. Working in parallel with the vehicle's suspension system, SuperSprings attach onto the existing rear springs and "kick-in" only as needed when carrying a heavy load, towing, entering a sharp turn, or during an emergency panic over-correction. SuperSprings also reduce wheel hop for a smoother ride while the anti-sway feature reduces body roll giving enhanced driver control.About SuperSprings:Founded in 1996, SuperSprings International, Inc.

developed a patented line of self-adjusting suspension stabilizers that solve many of the handling and suspension problems associated with loads carried by passenger vans, pickup trucks, minivans, and SUV's. The Company's products give users extra loading and towing capacity and prevent rear-end sag without hardening the ride on vehicles having leaf spring rear suspension systems. The product was developed for the American market with production initially established in California to serve the West Coast. Marketing efforts have continued to expand and SuperSprings are now distributed through a national dealer and distributor network throughout North America.Product applications for SuperSprings have evolved from being solely for pickup trucks to a broad cross section of vehicles including SUVs, 15 passenger vans, minivans, and RVs including Class C motorhomes and campers. SuperSprings have also been accepted by large-scale manufacturers in the van conversion business.SuperSprings provides various solutions for suspension enhancement for work trucks ranging in capacity from compact pickups to full-size pickups and one ton work trucks. SuperSprings is the leading supplier to commercial work truck/van users such as field service-bed trucks, armored vans, street sweepers, commercial vans, landscapers, and general contractors.Note to Editors: SuperSprings and the SuperSprings logo, are registered trademarks of SuperSprings International, Inc..

Things you will need:1 Skate board deck1 sheet skate board deck griptape2 skateboard trucks4 skateboard wheels8 skateboard wheel bearings2 risers1 set of mounting hardware1 philips head screwdriver1 skate tool1 metal file1 sharp razorblade1. First apply the skate board deck grip tape. By unpeeling the backing and then carefully stick the tape evenly on the top surface of the skate deck. File down the grip tape around the edges of the skateboard, and then carefully use the razorblade to slice off the excess grip tape that hangs over the edges on the skatedeck.2. Next, attach your skate trucks to your skateboard deck.

Use one of the screws from the mounting hardware to poke a hole in the griptape. Then push the mounting hardware from the top of the skatedeck to the bottom.3. Now slide the risers over the hardware. Next slide your skate trucks on. Make sure that the bushings from the trucks point toward each other or face the center of the board.

Tighten the nut with the skate tool until it's flush with the trucks. Warning: Do not over tighten; you can cause the wood to split.4. Now press the bearings into your wheels using the skate tool. Repeat this for all four wheels. If you do not have a skate tool.

You can use your axe on the trucks by placing the bearing on the axel and then pressing the wheel into the bearing, causing the bearing to slip into the wheel. Warning: Be very carefull not to dent or pinch the metal seal around the sides of the bearing. This will ruin the bearings and cause them not to spin!5. Once the bearings are in place, you can put the on the trucks. Do not over tighten this will crush the bearing causing it not to role.6.

Now the board is ready to skate. You may need to fine tune the trucks to your liking by loosening them or tighten them. The looser the trucks the easier to carve.7. Once you are done you can always customize your board with some stickersRemember to skate safe and wear your pads when needed..

(ContentDesk) August 7, 2005 -- Detroit Diesel chose to offer this product as an extended service Interval option on the S60 engines. The Fuel Pro system offers a single fuel filter/water separator that replaces the primary and secondary fuel filters that come standard on the engine. This means instead of changing 2 filters at the normal PM, the customer only changes a single filter element and in many cases is enjoying twice the filter life when compared to the standard filters. This product line offers the distributor/dealer potential retrofit opportunities for all classes of trucks, tour coaches, transit busses and motor homes. The units have a very short payback period and then continue to save the customer money for years to come. The customer only changes his filter element when the fuel reaches the top of the filter.

This is the Davco patented "Seeing is Believing" technology.Davco Technology provides technical expertise for all kinds of applications and has a fully staffed customer service center that can answer your questions.Davco Technology LLC is headquartered in Saline, Michigan.

Summer is coming and more and more people are putting the tops down on their convertibles, letting their dogs get fresh air out of an open automobile window, or letting the dear dog ride in the back of an open pickup truck. This seems like a great idea and dogs do love the wind in their fur; but! It can be a very dangerous thing to allow your dog to do. Cigarettes thrown out of windows, rocks falling from construction trucks, stones being kicked up by cars and blowing sand can all be very harmful to your dogs well being. Your poor pup can land at the vet due to sand or rocks in the eye, or debris in their nose. Dogs in open pick up trucks seldom jump out but could be thrown from a vehicle if it turned suddenly to miss something in the road or if the brakes were to be jammed on quickly. If left in the vehicle when parked, passersby could antagonize your dog and provoke him/her to be nasty or to jump out of the vehicle.

Next time you are inclined to let your dog hang out of a window or ride loose in the truck, please think twice. Take your dog to the park to play if s/he needs fresh air!.
